What is new at Awards and Trophies Head Quarters? This beautiful RCMP Service Award incorporates two new “innovative” sculpted miniatures. The hand crafted Inuksuk, which is the Inuit cultural symbol, is prominently displayed on the base and identifies Nunavut. The Inuksuk original use was as a navigation guide meaning “You are on the right path”. The Inuksuk was also used during the 2011 Winter Olympics to symbolize our dependence on each other. The Aviation symbol, represented here by the hand crafted 1943 Avro Anson aircraft propeller on the base of this exquisite plaque, gives new meaning to the term “Aviation Service Award”. The skill and artistry in crafting of this award makes it a one-of-a-kind work of art. Dragon Boat Awards, Trophies and Keepsakes

In Chinese folklore, the dragon is gentle and kind unlike the evil dragon of European tradition. In fact, the Chinese dragon is reputed to chase away evil. It’s known as a fiercely watchful female guardian.
Dragon boating got its beginning 2,000 years ago in China. A poet-philosopher named Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Mei Lo River to protest the corrupt regime of a Chou emperor. The local fishermen raced out in their boats to save him, but failed. To stop his body from being devoured by fish they beat the water with their paddles and threw rice dumplings wrapped in silk into the river as a sacrifice to his spirit. Ever since, annual dragon boat races are held in China to re-enact this story.
During the 1970s, dragonboating became a watersport in addition to an annual cultural celebration. In the 1990s especially dragonboating as a sport for people of all ages has grown tremendously. There are now teams all over the world–Canada, United States, Europe, Australia,and New Zealand.
These beautiful and striking Dragon Boat Awards feature a triple base have glass inserts to identify winning teams annually. This makes the award truly perpetual. BC Championship Snow Sculpture Awards and Trophies

Amazing that you can turn a large ”pile of snow” into such a “work of art”. The 52nd Annual Vernon Winter Carnival hosted the BC Championship Snow Sculpture Competition at the Silver Star Mountain Resort on February 5. The very intricate and beautiful snow sculpture entitled “The Celtic Dragon”, won 1st Place honors as well as the “Peoples Choice Award”. The sculptors were Knut Lie, Serina Townsley and Ted Bergen from Pritchard/Kamloops, pictured here with the 2012 Princess and Queen Silver Star. The winning team will be representing BC at the Quebec Winter Carnival in February 2013. The “one of a kind” awards were crafted by Blair Peden from AWARDS AND TROPHIES HEADQUARTERS in Vernon BC.
